I have been waiting for a refund on my GAP insurance from my previous vehicle. Unknown and not explained to me, Barker Buick GMC used that refund as part of my down payment on my new vehicle. The only reason I now know this was done, is because I called the GAP insurance company to check on my refund. I truly wonder how many people this has been done to and they are never aware of this. So, glad for a website like this! Now everyone's customer experience can be exposed! Let me start by saying I use to work in Customer Service for 7 years and never experienced such bad customer service that experience can be exposed! Let me start by saying I use to work in Customer Service for 7 years and never experienced such bad customer service that I did at this dealership. I went test drive a new car. I told the sales guy if we can get the number right, than maybe I would buy it! I did have a little negative equity from my trade in. Right away they wanted to appraise my trade in. Remember, my trade is mine still and not theirs. Immediately came back with a very large number below bluebook. I did not agree and the finance manager said, let me take a look at your trade. I walk with him outside and never once did he say hello and and shake my hand. He immediately started pulling on the back of my vehicle.(remember the truck is still mine, very rude). Too make a long story short! We went back in and they acted like I was just going to get the deal they wanted to give me.(which was the biggest joke) Then, the next step was to go into my credit and tell me what they can do! I know my credit (check it often) is good and was fed up at that point. I told them to call me later and let me know! Never received one phone call. So, I went to a another dealership, where they offered me the same car next level up for alot less(I mean alot less). Customer Service is the biggest thing in Sales. The customer is always right and you should try to do what you can for the customer. Never make the customer feel like you are asking for the world. And trust me, I was not being unreasonable. I know Houma is a small town, but you should not have to know the sales guys or finance managers to be treated with excellent service. Needless to say, I got my new vehicle and great customer service from another dealer. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone who has a trade or does not already know the finance manager. More
