  1. This is a real husband pleaser!! The patties are moist and the gravy is scrumpious!! Couldn't be easier. This was enjoyed by all. We served it with mashed potatoes and frozen peas. Great recipe! I will make this again...and again...and, Thanks papergoddess!

  2. This is such a good recipe and so easy!! I don't see how anyone would not enjoy this, my kids who give me a headache at meal times gobbled it up and asked for more, the gravy is great, the patties are just like a declicious salisbury steak, I served mine over rice. This will get made alot at my house! thanks papergoddess.

  5. This recipe is sooooo good!! I followed the recipe almost exactly ( i added 1 chopped clove of garlic, and 1/4 cup of chopped onion. This was so flavorful, and there are plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Also, I actually made gravy that tasted good (which is a first!!!) Thanks so much for posting this!

  1. Absolutely delicious. I used recipe #110331 for the onion soup mix, and potato water saved from making mashed potatoes instead of the water. Served with recipe #148484, frozen peas, buttered carrots, green salad and dinner rolls to sop up the gravy. Dessert was recipe #80681. I am going to make the patties again and turn them into hot hamburger sandwiches served with French fries and cole slaw. Filed in my favorite recipes binder. Thanks for posting.

  2. I was looking for a good comfort food meal for dinner with the ingredients I had on hand. This dish turned out delicious! The only thing I changed was used whole grain cracker crumbs instead of bread crumbs because it was quicker and easier to crush those rather than toast and crumble bread. Tasted just like one of my grandmother's meals from my childhood. My 5 year old daughter ate it up, too! The gravy was great on mashed potatoes. Can't wait to share the leftovers with my sister today for lunch! Thank you for the recipe!

  3. This is what TV dinners aspire to be! Good... but not fabulous... I'm thinking it might have been the few changes I made, but maybe not... I used beef broth instead of water and added a can of mushrooms... doubled the gravy since we really like our gravy around here. The last step with the gravy took a lot more water than called for to make it a gravy consistency... Served it with mashed potatoes...I might make this again but it isn't going in our keeper box...

  4. Bravo! Comfort food at it's best! We loved this recipe, and it will be a regular beef dish in our home. I love that is is actually quite healthy, as well as delicious. I think next time, I will replace the breadcrumbs with quick oats (that's how I make my meatloaf) to make it even healthier and more filling. I made this exactly as written, and I would not change a thing. I served it over simple mashed potatoes which were seasoned only with a bit of garlic powder (do NOT add salt to your potatoes, as this recipe is already salty enough!)Thanks for this recipe...I felt like I should feel guily eating it!

  5. DH loves this sort of dish, so I gave it a try and it was very good. I usually chop some onions and just mix it up with the beef. I did add chopped onions to the beef, subbed wheat germ for the breadcrumbs and forgot the Worcestershire. I think next time, I'll skip the breadcrumbs and eggs, as I thought they seemed a bit dry, but I'm keeping the onion soup mix part, as it adds a great flavor. Thanks for a good variation on a classic comfort food!

I hate to bake (almost as much as I hate to vacuum!), and I'll go to great lengths to avoid having to make cookies.
