Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser are officially divorced after eight years of marriage. A judge finalized the divorce for the 40-year-old Gilmore Girls star and the 43-year-old Mad Men actor on August 30, 2022, according to court records obtained by Us Weekly. The judgment had been entered the day before. The divorce finished less than a month after Kartheiser filed on August 10.
Bledel and Karthesier began dating in 2012 after meeting on his series Mad Men, they married in 2015. The pair have a son together, whose name they have never made public.
The pair have made a few red carpet appearances but generally have kept a relatively low profile. Very little is known about their lives as a married couple and as parents. So, what went wrong with their eight-year-long marriage?

Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser met on the set of hit show Mad Men in 2012. Bledel played Beth Dawes, who became romantically involved with Kartheiser's Pete Campbell.
The actor told The New York Magazine that the two kept it "completely professional" on the set of Mad Men. However, they reportedly became romantically involved with each other after the season wrapped.
“I did know he liked her from a very early point,” Jon Hamm said about the relationship. “I was a supporter of that union.”

“Honestly, they’re a really good match,” the show's Matthew Weiner added. “They’re both very down to earth, with a sense of responsibility and strong family ties. He added, “Even with all of Alexis’s amazing qualities, I think that if she had not been such a good actress, he would not have been interested.”

The couple married in Ojai, California in “a small and intimate family affair." Bledel later revealed to Nylon that she was planning her own weddings at the same time she was filming Jenny's Wedding in which she plays a lesbian preparing to marry into a conservative family.
“It was surreal to kind of go through the scenes of the wedding itself and think about how much these characters have to go through just to get to that point,” she said. “And, you know, it was so easy for me to just plan my wedding and celebrate and have everyone be happy for me.”

“She’s really blossomed as a woman and now she’s a proud new mother and married and happy,” Patterson told Glamour in May 2016.

4 Vincent Karthesier Investigated For On Set Behavior
In August 2021, Vincent Kartheiser was reportedly the subject of two internal investigations after he joined the third season of DC's Titans.
According to Deadline, there were at least two complaints about his on-set behavior. He allegedly had "disruptive, juvenile behavior and made inappropriate comments" which were investigated by WBTV's Labor Relations department. A representative for Kartheiser "vehemently" denied any accusations made.
On set source claim that the first complaint was filed in response to "verbal comments and outbursts" from Kartheiser, but investigators determined that the complaints weren't severe enough to fire the actor.

A second complaint was reportedly filed weeks later, but no other action was taken against the actor.
“Vincent Kartheiser vehemently denies the allegations,” a spokesperson for the actor said in a statement to Deadline. “Warner Bros investigated this matter and made clear to Mr. Kartheiser its expectations for behavior on the set, and he agreed to comply with their directives.”
A source also told Deadline that Vincent was "verbally reprimanded" after making an alleged on-set outburst that warranted "corrective action". At another stage, he was said to have been assigned a representative "to monitor" his behavior.
Kartheiser joined Titans as a new series regular for Season 3 with a one-year deal playing Jonathan Crane, aka Scarecrow, so we don't expect him to return to the show.
3 Alexis Bledel Quit The Handmaid's Tale
Bledel made headlines earlier this year when she unexpectedly walked away from The Handmaid’s Tale, the show she has a leading role in.
In May 2022, Bledel issued a public statement through a representative. “After much thought, I felt I had to step away from The Handmaid’s Tale at this time.”

2 Alexis Bledel And Vincent Kartheiser Were Divorced Less Than Three Weeks After Announcing Split
Less than three weeks after the shocking announcement of their split, Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser finalized their divorce. After his summons of notice was entered into the court’s records, an acknowledgment of service was filed and received the following day.
The divorce is listed as uncontested, which means that the filer, in this case, the Mad Men actor Vincent Kartheiser, does not expect any aspects of the divorce filing to be disagreed with.
According to the court reports, the decision was reached on August 29. Neither Bledel nor Kartheiser has spoken about their shocking separation, aside from their reps confirming the divorce on August 17.

Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser had not made a public appearance together in many which a source believes may have led to the split.
“They didn’t have a huge circle of friends but they both made up for it with very thriving and busy careers — almost to a fault,” the source speculates what may have led to the pair’s breakup. “Vincent has always been a little bit of a lone wolf, and he’s going to benefit from time on his own.”
