A Sauvignon Blanc base marries perfectly with these summer fruit flavors. You’ll make a huge pitcher of perfectly chilled sangria to share! Serve this easy recipe and some classic rum mojitos or strawberry mojitos at your next barbecue. It is seriously my personal favorite drink for warm weather – a fruity sangria that is ultra refreshing.

What is Sangria?

Sangria is an alcoholic beverage originating in Spain. It contains wine mixed with any combination of fresh fruit, fruit juice (typically orange juice), orange liqueur like Triple Sec, sweeteners, and/or sparkling water. Sangria will vary in color depending on the type of wine used and also the added ingredients, though a classic sangria is made with red wine.

This Strawberry Sangria recipe is a light pink color which comes from its white wine base and pink lemonade, strawberry, and raspberry additions. Sangria made from white wine, instead of the traditional red, is called Sangria blanca.

🍓 Ingredients:

Strawberry Lemonade Sangria - YUM!! (6)
  • Sauvignon Blanc – you can also use a rosé wine or pink moscato
  • Club Soda – sparkling water adds some bubbles and helps lighten the juices and wine, this needs to be added just before serving as the sangria will lose its bubbles after a couple hours
  • frozen pink lemonade concentrate – we like raspberry lemonade, it adds sweetness, flavor, and the beautiful pink color to the sangria
  • simple syrup – simple syrup can be purchased or easily made by dissolving granulated sugar in water. The simple syrup adds sweetness, and can be adjusted for personal taste. It mixes more thoroughly in the homemade sangria because the sugar dissolves through high heat to make the syrup.
  • strawberries and raspberries – use ripe, flavorful fruit. Wash well before adding to the sangria. Consider using organic produce.

For a full list of ingredients and their measurements, 📋 please view my printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

Optional Garnish:

Garnish with lemon slices and additional fruit. Lemon slices can be placed in your pitcher or beverage dispenser for serving, but the rind will make the drink bitter if it soaks in the sangria for too long.

Substitutions and Variations

  • Wine Options: we used a crisp, dry white wine which balances nicely with the sweetness of the lemonade and fruit. You can use a sparkling rosé, pinot grigio, or a sweeter wine like a pink moscato, but you may want to reduce the simple syrup in the recipe.
  • Liquors – You could add ½ cup of lemon vodka or raspberry vodka
  • 4th of July Sangria – dress up this summer co*cktail recipe with the addition of blueberries or blackberries for a patriotic flair!
  • Sangria Popsicles – after the flavors have meddled and you’ve added the club soda, pour the sangria into popsicle molds and freeze to make a frozen treat! For a sweeter sangria base, try substituting ginger ale for the club soda.

Step 9: Add ice to your pitcher if serving immediately. You can also add ice directly to the serving glasses to prevent watering down from the ice melting.

  • This recipe makes a huge batch of sangria – you can reduce the amounts for a smaller crowd.
  • If you are using a beverage dispense with a spigot, the fruit pieces can trail down and plug the spigot. I would recommend wrapping the inside of the spigot with cheesecloth and securing with food-safe twine before adding your sangria to the pitcher so that it stays out of the spigot.
  • To store leftover sangria, remove all of the ice and lemon slices and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze your white wine sangria.

Can I just used strawberry lemonade instead of the concentrate? I was unable to find that at my grocery. If so how much would you suggest?

You can, Nicole. We are essentially using the other liquids (wine and club soda) in place of the water to dilute the lemonade concentrate, so the flavor will be a little lighter using lemonade, but I think you’ll still end up with a delicious sangria. Let me know how it turns out!
