The threat of Islamic terrorism has not vanished, and although we are less likely to see a complex 9-11 style attack, a smaller attack is certainly possible. One only needs to read the news to see how one person with a weapon can create havoc amongst the civilian population. Active shootings have prompted copycats, and disgruntled young men(they are still mostly men) have learned from those who have committed attacks before them. Those inspired by extremism can also learn from these horrible attacks and use this as their method to obtain vengeance. If you see something, say something. None of these attacks happen in a vacuum, and it is incumbent upon everyone to remain vigilant. Tips.fbi.gov is a resource to report suspicious activity. It takes all of us to prevent tragedy. Most people understand that killing the innocent has never solved any problem, but for those that don’t see that, we need to stop them, and law enforcement can’t do it alone. No one’s cause is furthered by slaughtering the innocent. Help us find them.
